Armed Forces Art Society annual show

Very pleased to once again have some work in the AFAS annual exhibition.  As usual it’s being held in the Mall Galleries, dates are 11-16 July.  Try to drop in if you’re in London!

Made a start on this one last weekend. I like the abstract feel of it, but am not so keen on the stretched canvas – don’t like the surface much. Guess I shouldn’t have bought a big box of stretched canvasses, that I now feel as if I should use up…

A musical offering

Please make it end! Getting closer to finishing this one now. Feels like it’s been a long haul. Have to paint the two foreground boats, and then check around for any details, errors, and highlights that need fixing. I think I may have to apply a wash over the river surface too, just to unify everything again and get the boats to ‘sit’ better in the water.

A life of surprises

Well that’s most of the snow done. Will probably add the occasional highlight and dark accent here and there. I also noticed there is a weird parallel going on at the base of a couple of the right hand tree trunks, so I need to remedy that. But coming along okay so far I think…
