Old paintings but seemed appropriate to give them another airing today
Done. Onward and upward!
Made a start on this one last weekend. I like the abstract feel of it, but am not so keen on the stretched canvas – don’t like the surface much. Guess I shouldn’t have bought a big box of stretched canvasses, that I now feel as if I should use up…
Now finished. This is a view from the Left Bank along Rue des Bernadins in Paris. Painted from a photo I took during a brief family visit there last summer. A great place to paint!
Got close to finishing this one today, I think. Quite pleased with the progress – in addition to all my usual impediments I had to cope with a one year old daughter trying to climb up the easel from time to time. That’s my excuse for some of the lines being wobbly (ahem). Managed to stay a little looser with this one. Just a few bits left to do, unless something glaringly wrong appears to me in the morning; mirrors on the car, some lettering on the oval sign above the cafe, and that’s about it.
Managed to spend a few hours on this one today. Not quite sure yet where it’s going…
A busy weekend but managed to at least get a painting sketched out. Notice that I need to make the street a little wider though. C’est la vie. From a reference photo taken when we spent a couple of days in Paris last summer.
C’est finis, as they say.
… but might call this one ‘Cafe Diane’. Seeing as that’s what the little eatery in the Tuileries Gardens is called, I think. It’s probably finished but this one needs a day or two to ‘rest’ before I can be sure. Anyway, here’s how it looks at the moment (with no guarantees that I’m not going to change any of it).
