Might be turning a corner with this one. Not quite so disappointed with it as I was last weekend anyway!
Gah. Time to put this one on the shelf for a while and try something different I think.
Not much further ahead with this. Don’t think it looks like me – I hope not anyway!
Still really struggling to find time to get any serious work done on this painting. I also need to get some non-alkyd titanium white. Having to use a lot of this colour in the flesh tones, and its drying speed is making blending and re-working of the paint difficult.
Have been ridiculously busy for the last two weeks, so was pleased to be able to spend some time painting this weekend. Got a few more steps done (see what I did there?)
This is where I’ve got to so far…
And where I started from this morning.
Added a bit of colour, and then scraped most of it away with a palette knife; like the effect that gives.
We had an open house here in Belgium yesterday, and was very pleased to sell seven paintings. Thanks to all who bought one, and to all the other friends who visited. It was a lot of fun and I think we’ll do it again soon – perhaps with more vino next time!
Latest work in progress. Aiming high with this one, what could possibly go wrong?
Still not entirely happy with this one, but I think the figures helped pull it together. Onwards!
Still missing that elusive element. Perhaps I should stay away from painting happy, colourful scenes…
First daubs of colour – most of them wildly inaccurate.
